Uniform Resource Locator

That thing You see in the address bar of your web browser. (www.nerdywords.com)

The Uniform Resource Locator breakes an Internet address into a couple of distinct parts. First, the protocol used. Secondly, the IP address or domain name where the resource is located. An example would be FTP and HTTP, which are two common protocols, and a domain name, such as nerdywords.com that follows.
