MIMO is an emerging 802.11 spec and increases the speed and the range of 802.11 Wireless networks.

You will notice that these routers often have multiple antennas, This is to improve the quality of the siganl indoors. You may also hear this technology when Pre-N and 802.11n networking technology become common.
